JDTS OVERVIEW
Whether it is happening locally in our neighborhoods or around the globe, we are surrounded with situations of social injustice that enslave the lives of untold millions. There is a triggered response in each of us when we witness injustice. But more importantly, we also have an obligation to do something about it.
In Micah 6:8 we read that as Believers we are required to actively DO justice, with a heart of mercy and a spirit of godly humility. Both men and women of integrity, with a passion in their hearts to be God's hands and voice to free the oppressed, are needed now more than ever to engage in these issues.
In this school we will explore some of the issues that are at the core of social injustice today. We will also dig deep in order to understand God's heart for justice, and allow Him to bring into focus ways that we can actively take part in making a difference, both within our sphere of influence, and around the world.
JDTS OUTREACH
For outreach, students will go for 2 months working actively among those who are suffering from injustice.
*Possible outreach locations would include, but are not limited to, Cambodia, Thailand, Rwanda, South Africa, Kenya, and Uganda.

PATTY - USA
School Leader
Hi everybody!
I have been in YWAM since 1997, and for 10 of those years led DTS’s for Marine Reach. God has taken me on a different journey the past few years, and I’ve started a new ministry called Justice Reach (no connection to Marine Reach) and have a huge heart for the oppressed and enslaved in our world today. A particular focus for me is human trafficking, specifically children trapped in sexual slavery.
I’m really looking forward to leading the first Justice DTS here in Tauranga! I know we will all learn lots and together figure out how to “DO JUSTICE” in our individual spheres of influence! Can’t wait to meet you!!
CHARLENE - CANADA
Staff
Hey everybody! I'm super excited to be back in New Zealand ! I'm from Canada, but I love this country A LOT! One reason has to do with my love for the outdoors. You too? Let's go hiking!
One of my favourite quotes is from the martyred missionary Jim Ellliot. He said, "One does not surrender a life in an instant. That which is lifelong can only be surrendered in a lifetime". And this is how I choose to live because HIS mercies are new every morning! (Lam 3:23) I want to read more of HIS word, I want to see more of HIS creation, and I want to tell people about the GREAT GOD we serve.! Can't wait to meet you!

Hey guys! My name is Hali, I’m nineteen and I come from a small town in Iowa called Pella. I come from a family of five; my parents, two older brothers, and then me. So me in a nut shell is pretty simple really I enjoy just hanging out, chilling outside, being active, getting out and trying new things, and playing guitar (I’m not very good, but learning). I just graduated high school in May, and came to New Zealand in August to do my DTS here in Tauranga. DTS was an amazing experience for me, God totally freed me and transformed our walk together. It was an awesome time of learning and growing and finding where I belong in His kingdom and who I am in Him. I’m so stoked for you guys for this time to experience everything God’s got for you here!
BRITTANY - USA
Staff
Hello everyone! My name is Brittany and I come from beautiful California. I lived there up until this past August when I came to New Zealand to do my DTS and now I call this lovely place home. I had a total life changing experience on my DTS and I am so excited to see what God has in store for you. I know we’ll have plenty of time to get to know one another but in the mean time let me tell you a little bit about myself. I’m 24 and the oldest of 7 kids. I absolutely love baking and cooking and usually you will find me in the kitchen in my spare time. I am so excited to spend time with every one of you!
