Take a few minutes to grab a coffee or a cup of tea, we would love to update you on what God has been doing here in New Zealand at YWAM Marine Reach.

Welcome to our April Quarter! The past few Aprils, we’ve been able to utilise the time to be able to rest and recharge as a ministry centre – staff included! Filling our time with completing the projects that we haven’t been able to do during the busy-ness of a DTS as well as bonding as a family. However, this year – the Lord has put it on our heart to facilitate two new schools!

We’re a few weeks into running the Introduction to Primary Healthcare and the School of Jewish Studies at YWAM Marine Reach and it has been a blast! From the perspective of ministry staff, the base has definitely had a different more mature vibe! This week, we welcomed the students and new staff onto the land by a Powhiri (traditional welcoming ceremony). I’ve been apart of a few powhiri’s since my time on staff, however this time seemed SO different. Usually we welcome students, who we LOVE, INVEST and CHAMPION during their 3 month stay in New Zealand which is a huge privilege. This time we were welcoming new staff and students who had made the decision to come to New Zealand to pioneer both of this schools and stay for the long term – people who were permanently becoming apart of the ministry family! This was such a new experience – a true blessing for God.

Running two schools that are about different things have been very unique from a live-in standpoint. The weeks have been filled with walking in the hall ways and hearing the students who are doing the IPHC spouting out different medical and biological terminology but then turning the corner to walk into the dining room on a Friday night and a Shabbath dinner is taking place! I love it! Together, we’re able to learn from one another – and love one another in different ways!

We have a few more exciting things to update you on! We have dreamt up a new DTS that will be starting this July! Cover to Cover DTS is a course that is structured and centred around the Word of God. The Word of God is a POWERFUL combinations of stories and truth directly from our creator and we want to explore it through reading and studying the key themes together as children of God! We really believe that this has been a vision on God’s heart and are so excited to be able to partner with Him to see how he brings it alive!

Along with creating a new DTS, we’ve also brought two of our favourite DTS’ to the October quarter. If you’ve been with us for a while or maybe even if you’ve just stumbled across us recently, you will be know that we offer a Medical Compassion DTS and a Worship DTS in the January and July quarters. Starting from THIS October, they will now run in all three quarters! The Medical Compassion DTS also has a follow up if you would like to take a gap year and finishes off with the Introduction to Primary Healthcare! Please contact us if you would love to know more!

It’s been a pretty incredible beginning to an April season, God has truly been doing so much within our ministry but also within our team here at Marine Reach. We’ve been stretched and challenged and even though our ministry or even daily work schedules seem to change, we serve and are loved by a God who’s character and love for us never changes! Sometimes it can almost be a little overwhelming, however I have felt the Father remind me that through it all, He is our constant and He is always faithful to lead us and guide us! In seasons of change, all we have to do is continue to seek Him and rest in Him and everything else will be a result of that!
